Fresh off the impromptu release of his trip-hop project Songs About Something, JustPlainAnt is back with a brand new EP entitled Out Of My Head to serve as and appetizer for his 3rd producer-driven album Rumble, Young Man Rumble. Ant put all the funk in this one, BTW...a definite cop for anyone who needs some fresh funky grooves in their life.
So the blogs is jumping right about now! Fellow blogger & friend iDopeBoy has compiled a collection of unreleased bangers from the internets' brightest rising stars (yea, cuz I'm on that list!!). It should be stated that this mix was compiled in less than one 8-hour work shift! Tell me the boy ain't grinding... Also, a track from me is on the jawn so make sure you d'load and give it a listen. As for the title...
So here is the very first mixtape ever made by iDopeboy.iMStrate.com. It only took 7 hours of non-stop work. That’s right earlier today i started the ball rolling and its all finished now. 7 hours ago i wondered if i could put out a mixtape in a single day on the strength of my network alone. And with a little help i managed to secure 30+ previously unheard tracks. That was shrunk down to 17 pretty dope songs. Featured in this mixtape is Frank Ramz, Hollywood FLOSS, Verbal & The Kickdrums and many more.

Check out this wicked new laptop, created to be thinner than all other laptops.
The industry is all a buzz with the latest entry in the “I’m the thinnest laptop” competition. The latest Dell Adamo is definitely a strong contender, at 9.99 mm at some points. Of course, that’s just the official figure. I would have tested it myself but I forgot my calipers. The Adamo definitely does the sleek, simplistic look well. About two inches bigger in both directions than a sheet of paper and only 3.2 lbs, you could almost forget you were carrying this thing around.
Dell replaced the usual manual cover latch with a heat-sensitive capacitor. Just swipe your finger across the front edge and the lock disengages.
As for the device’s internals, nothing jumps out at the eye. The screen is 13.4″. Powered by a 1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with integrated graphics and 4 GB of DDR3 RAM. You get 128 GB of SSD, no word on whether that is upgradable yet. Wireless comes in two flavors, 802.11n and Bluetooth 2.1. The only ports on the laptop are 2 USB 2.0 jacks, audio, and a DisplayPort out. Ethernet, HDMI, and the like can connect through the use of an external dongle.
Another cool feature is the replaceable battery. But you’ll have to be replacing it every 2 and a half hours. Not very long for a laptop that is designed for maximum mobility, but at that size? Can’t beat it.-- [ SOURCE ]
Netlabel BlocSonic has released yet another great original album. These guys are keeping the jams coming!! And I'm never one to hate good music...
With “Classic Material Vol. 3: UI Radio”, CM aka Creative, his various collaborators and producers all present to you hip-hop that’s both new and classic. Musically it reflects back to an early/mid 90s sound, topically, it captures all that a young, struggling and striving American emcee has on his mind. It’s the 3rd part in a series of releases which began at the netlabel Random Flow.
When it became clear to CM that Random Flow had become inactive, he approached me about releasing Vol. 3 through blocSonic. Having enjoyed both Vols. 1 & 2, I was instantly interested. I hope you’ll enjoy this release as much as I do. If you dig it, be sure to check out the previous volumes.
Thanks to CM for coming to blocSonic. Thanks to you for downloading and enjoying. As always, share this release with anyone and everyone.
I wanna post this mixtape up from the homie Aime. I been listening to it for a couple days and I like dude flow. It's always good to hear young guys that just want to make music. Hipped by the man over @ iDopeBoy, this joint is nice. Get acquainted!
6thSense has released a $5 mixtape on BandCamp and the shit is nice. Nice stripped sound, beats & rhymes...let's get back to that! You can stream it here tho...
A little late posting this one up... DC area beatsmith Oddisee releases follow up to his Odd Summer tape with the fall version of the mix. Quality beat music and select features make this truly a gem! Ketchup!

P.S. I put the embed up so you can listen to this project. But your support is appreciated!
THIS JUST IN--- The homie JustPlainAnt is releasing a special EP project entitled Songs About Something. The project is unique in that he is releasing it in 4 sections. Extended dope. I'll let the man spell it out, give you the skinny and what-nots..
This is a project I randomly decided to start one day in order to introduce you to my mind. Dig Deep was a project that was similar in some ways, but it was more of a compilation than something that actually reflected my mindstate. I've been getting really bored with hip-hop lately, but naturally, I didn't want to stop making music, so I decide to jump into a different genre: trip-hop/downtempo. It's my first release in said genre, so I hope that I've been successful with my endeavors in something different. Thanks for downloading! I hope you enjoy this project. The rest is soon to come. So... this joint is really amazing people. Take a listen...
blocSonic, home to some of the dopest music anywhere on the net, released volume 24 in their much heralded 'netBloc' compilation series. I was lucky enough to be a part of this momentous release, contributing one track from Summer Fresh. Peep the wordplay...
After a couple back to back original blocSonic releases, I’m back to introduce you to the latest in the blocSonic netBloc series. This batch of netaudio gems is packed with ear candy. I have little doubt that you’ll find at least a couple tracks that you also call gems. Who knows, perhaps you’ll call them all gems, just as I do!
So what exactly is packed in this release? You have operatic vocals with a metal, swing backing. You have straight-up hip-hop. You have electro-pop. Singer-songwriter pop. Smoldering, funky, lounge. Dance music. Straight ahead rock. Rock with a funky edge. Music from Japan, France, Germany, Mexico, Russia, Sweden, the UK and the US.
Many thanks again to all participating artists and labels, this series just couldn’t happen without your participation. Of course, thanks to you for downloading this excellent collection. Enjoy it. Share it.
I just want to hip all my readers to a cool site that will help make your web-hosting a breeze.
So I've been looking all around the internet to find the best web hosting for the lowest price. I'm a total internet illiterate, so I do not really know what I am looking for. However, I have found a wonderful site that claims they can make my hunt more effective and get the results I want. This website presents a list of the TOP TEN web hosting services, with their prices and excellent reviews. Also, they have links to great web hosting guides and hosting resources. Most of the information is for Word Press, but who cares?! I'm looking to make a move anyway. Hopefully, I'll make my decision before Christmas. Here's is a look at the hosting terms. You should check it out as well.
My friend and fellow JPS artist Brad, better known as OhBliv, drops his first beat tape on the people. This joint project with Chocolate Milk is a straightforward head-nodder. Take it back to hip-hop's heyday with ths soulful release. Ketchup 85'er!
Brought to you by Just Plain Sounds and Chocolate Milk (a Richmond, Va.-based beat label), Oh.Bliv brings us his first full-length beat tape. 21 soulful tracks of tape music for your listening pleasure.
Finale & Vandalyzm go in on Jay Electronica's "Dear Moleskine" beat (prod. by Just Blaze). Maybe this will force Jay's hand....where's the track bruh? Either way, these two hold their own. Watch Niggas because they shady. Van spreads light on his disassociation with The Hall of Justus. I'll hold my tongue on those cats....
A lil' beat pack I whipped up, dedicated to the movie Spun. All the samples come from the OST for that flick. Check me out. More beat packs coming soon.
This is a joyous moment for me. I just dropped my debut album on Just Plain Sounds and I'm posting to give you a lil' insight on the project. Summer Fresh is my ode to summer, done the right way. 12 tracks of heat. I produced most of the joints with assists from Just Plain Ant & Charlie Hilton, two of the best underground producers out right now (IMO!).
I started creating this off a hunch. It's nothing really major... No overdrawn concepts. Just me and a mic. I wanted to use most of these beats on a sampler project, sorta like a beat tape. But I just felt like I needed to rhyme and let people hear where I was coming from. Most of the songs remind me of lazy days or off-the-hook nights we experience in this crazy City of Richmond. I had two weeks off from school so I said what the hell and just dropped the joint. Recorded in my house, raw as fuck, all soul. I mean, we used to fuck around and record vocals through the headphones on to tapes and just pass the lil' tapes around like we was sweet. I'm trying to bring that fun back. That spontaneity. That love. We was kids, happy as fuck that we could do something we liked. It didn't hurt anyone. And it was honest. Hate it or love it, Summer Fresh is here. Let the music speak. Enjoy the rest of the summer....I got a b-day coming up!
It appears Big L is finally getting a documentary about his life and times. Seems like so much is going right in music. The BP3 leaks, and God lets me know all is not well in HiphopLand.
The Chef chopping it up with the VCUSHHO(Student Hip Hop Organization). Richmond in the building...Shout to all my SHHO cats that hold it down. Make sure you coppin' Only Built 4 Cuban Linx IISeptember 8th.
This jam comes directly off Jay Slim's debut album The High Life. The cut is produced by Just Plain Ant, and the video was directed by Messiah Amaram. Def song, slammin' party, that's what JPS is all about! If you haven't d'loaded this joint, go play on I-95 during rush hour. Ketchup, fool.
New heat from the boy Blu. This time he gets behind the boards to showcase his production skills. Released on his Myspace page, this joint is spaced out with a West Coast vibe. This is one talented brother. Don't sleep on this! Ketchup!
Yo! We took a break for a few weeks, but OhSoYes Radio is back on the grind. The "I was on vacation" edition brings up those topics that were of notable newsworthiness (lol) in the past few weeks including: Michael Vick, Brett Favre and Nas. Plus, Elijah offers up a fun game on Facebook.
Elzhi- D.E.M.O.N.S.
Busta Rhymes- Everything Remains Raw
Busta Rhymes- It's a Party
Common- Come Close
John Legend- Heaven
The Roots- Dynamite!
All beats produced by Sleaze, Just Plain Ant and Junior Wong
Ft. Rebel INS, Ghostface Killah, & Method Man (Prod. by J Dilla)
All I can say is Raekwon is bringing the WU back. No way he can lose with a record this incredible. I feel the same way I felt when I heard "Incarcerated Scarfaces" back in the day. Dilla goes so hard with Wu.
Good friend of mine & fellow JPS ArtistJoeyRipps released a monster of an album tonight @ Midnight, through website blocSonic. I've been waiting to hear this joint in its entirety, so I'm very pleased! The Catastrophic Connection is a collaboration between Ripps, 13aDLuck & producer Catastrophe (hence the album title). Please, please ketchup and check this joint out!
What you’re about to listen to is a fantastic collection of raw, NYC style, boom-bap hip-hop. It’s packed with smooth soul-drenched beats, classic B-Boy braggadocio and introspective rhymes. Luck & Ripps’ vocal styles are both quite compatible, so their collaboration on this project feels natural and unforced. Catastrophe’s production throughout serves as the perfect bed for their verses to rest. -- [ SOURCE ]
Sleaze back at it, dropping gems on y'all. I'm posting up a track from my upcoming project Summer Fresh EP.
The name of this cut is called "Summers, Past". I produced the track. Summer Fresh EP will be my first release on the JustPlainSounds netlabel, and it's definitely a heater. So listen, indulge, leave feedback and all that good stuff!
I keep telling y'all my birthday is coming (September 14th)! I don't really cop Dunks, but I'd def make an exception for these jammies. You should as well.
The new project from 14KT is bangin'. This man has Twitter & the whole 'nets going nutso! And I'm falling right in line! Ketchup, please.
"Here it is..a project I unofficially had done since 2006'. It started when James Yancey a.k.a. J Dilla passed that February. To cope with the death of my favorite producer, who I liked to call my unofficial "musical mentor", I started making "donuts"...uncontrollably. I never planned to release any of the material out of respect for Dilla & his craft. I've shared some of the music with others, in which they would repeatedly ask me to hear it, so I decided to put a little something together and make it official. JUST FOR Y'ALL. This is a collection of beats created about 3 years ago. Some "donuts' style, some just around that era of 14KT beats. "Now & Laters" were always a fovorite candy of mine. I used to go to Mindells Pharmacy in Ypsilamti back in the day & buy ALL of them. Sadly, I even stole change from my grandma's(RIP) purse for them. They are addictive, yet fun to eat..a feeling I found mutual when making music at the time. Ironically, I fell back in love with "Nowalataz" around this era (ask my homey Sarah "Merk Merk", haha). Enjoy." - 14KT
Another mixtape from The Chef to prepare us for Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II. I'm ready as hell! None of these tracks will be on the album however.

Vast Aire is dope as fuck. We need some new Cannibal Ox, like now. This joint however is a diss aimed @ Def Jux & Cage. Don't really care to know what it's about but this beat is nasty. I still listen to The Cold Vein like once a week.
It seems that Charlie Hilton, producer of 2009's Good Food mixtape, has decided to release the extremely popular instrumentals from the album. All for free. Sorry, but I better not hear no lame cats on my cut. Sorry. Ketchup!
Here's the first, Track 8, Jay Burna's "Dedication To Women"
Damn. John Hughes was one of the best American filmmakers of the 80's and 90's. The Breakfast Club was my fave; Lil' Sleaze might say Ferris Bueller's Day Off. And the whole 'effin world loves the monster hit that was Home Alone. Apparently he had a heart attack while taking his morning stroll. 59 years old he was. He will surely be missed.
New track up from the boy Vee Majorz via his Twitter page. Fresh off his disassociation with The Hall of Justus, Vandalyzm goes in with a freestyle for the people. Vibe out to this smooth ride. This joint is all Van's style too.
Yo, this week we are discussing our favorite Adam Sandler movies in honor of his upcoming movie "Funny People". As always I play some good jams and speak some good shit...holla at a playa, when you see him in the skreets!
